Some services are not covered by the NHS and therefore attract charges. These include private certificates, private letters or statements, travel or sickness insurance claim forms, medical reports and examinations for employment, solicitors use or fitness to drive. These services also require longer appointments.
Please ask at reception for more information in respect of charges and whether or not an appointment is needed with the doctor.
Health Checks
registered patients aged 16-74 who have not been seen for 3 years may request a consultation. Registered patients aged over 75 years who have not been seen in the last 12 months may request a consultation. If you’re unable to attend the surgery for these checks because of your medical condition a home visit may be arranged.
Annual health checks for Carers and patients with a registered learning disability are also available.
Minor Surgery
in line with current local recommendations.
Cervical Smears
We recommend that all our female patients should have a routine smear every 3 years from age 25 – 49 and every 5 years from age 49 – 65. This can be booked with the practice nurse or one of the doctors.
Travel Vaccinations
Foreign Travel
We offer a comprehensive travel immunisation and advice service. We recommend you allow at least eight weeks before departure to allow sufficient time for any course of immunisations you may require. To access this service remember to book an appointment to see our practice nurse. Bring with you details of your holiday and previous vaccinations if possible.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form and print it out before coming to see the nurse.
If you are travelling to Europe GOV.UK has advice and guidance to help you get the most out of your holiday.
